Shizuka 'Shico' Moriwaki Profile

CAREER

When she was 11, The right side of her body became paralyzed after an operation, causing scoliosis. After that, she stated receiving various alternative treatments on a weekly basis.

  1. In March 1992, She moved to New York. She studied oriental massage technique s such as Shiatsu and Anmma for 7 years.
  2. In April 1999, She entered Swedish institute: College of health science majoring in massage therapy. During her school years, she volunteered massaging Alzheimer patients, parents of children with cancer, wheelchair football players. In 2000 she acquired the bachelor's degree of massage therapy. She designed "ease massage therapy" combining her knowledge of eastern techniques and western treatment she learned from the college.
  3. In August 2000, She acquired a New York state license for massage therapy. She worked for prestigious medical spas and sports clubs.
  4. In October 2001, She established ease salon and massage LLC, and in 2004 relocated to 42nd street.
  5. By 2005, she accomplished 100,000 massage sessions.
  6. In June 2008, She established "ease NY Japan office" in Tokyo.
  7. In August 2008, She demonstrated hand massage and aroma therapy for Alzheimer's patients at Samejima psychiatric hospital and various institutions in Japan.

CAREER

  1. In 1994, She moved to New York after working as a hair stylist in Japan. She studied makeup at NYBS, while working at hair salon in Manhattan. She met Shizuka Moriwaki, owner of ease salon and started receiving her massage. After she graduate from NYBS she worked freelance makeup artist for fashion shows, magazines, and commercials.
  2. In 1996, she studied facial treatment at --- school and became interested in massage therapy, she started studying massage from Shizuka Moriwaki.
  3. In 1997, She acquired NY State license for cosmetology.
  4. In 2000, She entered Swedish institute: College of science. She acquired bachelor's degree of massage therapy.
  5. In 2002, she worked at "ease salon and massage LLC", and she graduated nail school in Manhattan.
  6. Currently, she works at "ease NY" as a general manager educating staff and operating salon and school.

CAREER

  1. In 2000, she moved to New York. She entered Swedish Institute: College of health science, where she met Makiko Kadoi. Through Kadoi she met massage therapist Moriwaki and experienced "ease massage therapy".
  2. She acquired bachelor's degree of massage therapist. She worked at various Japanese and American salons, and she volunteered as a Shiatsu practitioner at Japanese American Society.
  3. After having training from Moriwaki, she started working at "ease salon" from 2003.
  4. From 2006, she has devoted her time educating new therapists as an instructor.
  5. In 2008, She returned to Japan to establish "ease NY Japan office". She manages salon and massage school.
  6. In August 2008, She was invited to "Diet & Beauty fair" at International convention center in Tokyo. She performed demonstration of "ease massage therapy" with Kadoi and Moriwaki.
